Potomac senior center Lynetta Kizer has been named to Parade Magazine's All-America High School Girls Basketball Team. Kizer was a second-team selection and one of five Virginians to make the 40-person squad. Joining Kizer were T.C. Williams' Tierra Ruffin-Pratt (first team), Brooke Point's Chay Shegog (third team), Notre Dame Academy's Azania Stewart (third team) and Norfolk Collegiate's She'la White (third team).
Kizer averaged 21 points, 12.5 rebounds and 3.5 blocked shots per game for the 15-10 Panthers. A McDonald's All-American as well, Kizer has signed with Maryland.
She is only the second girls basketball player from a Prince William County high school to be named to the Parade team. University of Virginia sophomore Monica Wright (Forest Park) is the other when she made the team as a second-team selection in 2006.
The entire 2008 team will appear in this Sunday's Parade Magazine.
