Tigers’ bats power way to win
In its final game on Wednesday at the Cocoa Beach Expo Spring Training Tournament, Brentsville exploded for nine runs in the sixth inning on their way to a 21-3 win over Exeter Township (Pa.). Hayden Gilmer led the way, hitting two home runs, including a grand slam. Gilmer finished the game going 3 for 3 with eight RBI.
For the game, Tyler LeGrand went 2 for 3 with three RBI, Chase Garrison had three RBI and two runs scored, Scott Betterly went 2 for 4 with three runs scored and two RBIs, while Justin Frazier and Brian Worley each had two RBI apiece. Zack Stronko scored three runs as well.
John Desilets picked up the victory for Brentsville, pitching four innings, striking out three and allowing only one earned run. Brentsville improved to 3-1 with the win.

• WOODBRIDGE 5, HAMPTON ROADS ACADEMY 4: The Vikings earned their first win of the season Thursday as Drew Bouchard scored twice, while David Estoclet, Mike Herrity and Brandon Downs each scored once. Devin Bushweller had two assists, while Aaron Bradley finished with seven saves in goal.
