Chris Marrero's bloop single in the 11th inning scored Matt Rogelstad from second base to give the Potomac Nationals an 8-7 win over the Kinston Indians on Saturday night at Pfitzner Stadium.

Rogelstad reached first base on a fielder's choice and went to second base on Ofilio Castro's single.

Marrero lifted a fly ball to shallow right field, which Kinston second baseman Adam Davis failed to catch, allowing Rogelstad to trot home.

Potomac (6-2) has won six straight games.

The Nationals took advantage of a dropped fly ball in the eighth inning by Kinston center fielder Cirilo Cumberbatch to plate two runs and tie the game at seven.

Devin Ivany hit the ball, which Cumberbatch got to, but failed to secure.

Marvin Lowrance and Edgardo Baez scored on the play.

Kinston scored the game's first two runs on a two-run second inning home run by Jerad Goedert.

Goedert doubled home two more runs in the fifth to extend Kinston's lead to 4-0. Goedert also scored a run on a single by Todd Martin.

The Indians scored two more runs an inning later to lead 7-0.

The Nationals' bats finally woke up in the sixth. Ivany doubled and scored two batters later on Matt Rogelstad's double.

Potomac scored four seventh inning runs thanks to more of Kinston's shaky defense. Neither third baseman Niuman Romero nor catcher Alex Castillo could catch a Lowrance popup.

Though no error was given, that miscue was costly because Lowrance walked. He went to second on Baez's single and scored on Dee Brown's single.

Head, Kinston's right fielder, dropped a ball hit by Ivany that allowed Baez to score Potomac's third run.

Potomac made the score 7-4 when Brown scored on Seth Bynum's single.

The Nationals narrowed their deficit to 7-5 when Rogelstad hit a ball Head dove for, but failed to get. Ivany scored from third.
