Potomac boys lacrosse wi
Andrew Zelms and Jared Hafich scored two goals and Colin Mohnacs scored once to lift Potomac to a season-opening 5-4 victory over James Monroe.
Charlie Braswell provided the Panthers (1-0) with two assists and Mike Turner recorded an assist as well.
Panthers goalkeeper Austin Thomas contributed nine saves.
GIRLS SOCCER
• HYLTON 3, MOUNTAIN VIEW 2: The Bulldogs recorded their first win of the year, improving to 1-1, on the road. Breiana White assisted on two Hylton goals, including the game-winner to Crissy Parker.
Morgan Mauck started the Bulldog scoring on a pass from Mycal McNeil. White's first assist came on a score by McNeil.
Goalkeeper Danielle Nonaka made eight saves in the game for Hylton.
BOYS SOCCER
• MOUNTAIN VIEW 2, HYLTON 1: Frank Kuffour scored the Bulldogs' lone goal, assisted by Manny Rodriguez, but it was not enough as KJ Rowe found the back of the net twice for Mountain View.
Jonathon Sheffield recorded six saves in goal as Hylton fell in its season opener.
• WOODBIRDGE 6, COLONIAL FORGE 0: Andy Sofranac recorded a goal and two assists to help the Vikings win their season opener.
Mardong Guevara, Josh Christian, Brian Lybert, Noah Elnagdy and Jon Dorland also scored goals and Lybert and Christian each registered an assist.
Vikings goalkeeper Danny Gallardo recorded 10 saves.
