A UH-1 Huey Helicopter carrying members of the Army National Guard took off from the West end of Gar-Field Stadium on Friday night. A quick chant of U-S-A, U-S-A broke out as fans stood to cheer as the choppers lifted off.
Unfortunately it was the only bit of excitement the Gar-Field faithful experienced all night.
Battlefield’s Adrian Ingram carried 23 times for 200 yards and one touchdown, and Bo Revell completed 7 of 13 passes for 75 yards and a score as the Bobcats put up 28 fourth quarter points in a 35-0 road victory.
Leading 7-0 early in the fourth, Revell scored from a yard out to give the Bobcats a 14-0 lead.
After Gar-Field’s Aaron Jackson fumbled on a sack by Max Dove on the Indians next possession, Revell rolled to his right and fired a game clinching touchdown pass to Marty Dawson with 10:57 left for a 21-0 lead.
Ingram broke a scoreless tie 1:44 into the second quarter.
Taking the handoff on a counter to the right, Ingram cut right off his block and outran the entire Indians secondary down the right sideline for the score.
After a listless performance in their home opener last Friday against North Stafford, the Indians were again stagnant on offense. Gar-Field gained just 43 yards of total offense with just three of those yards coming in the second half.
Bryce Miller was held to just 33 yards on 17 carries and Jackson completed just 2 of 13 passes for five yards and one interception.
The Indians did not run one offensive play in Battlefield territory the entire night and did not pick up a first down until their third offensive possession.
The lone glimpse of hope for the Indians came with 2:59 left in the third.
Domonique Campbell intercepted a Revell pass at the Gar-Field 6 after the pass was tipped by Indians linebacker Ernest Adjei.
However, after no gain on a first down run by Miller, the Indians were flagged for illegal motion on second down and Jackson threw incomplete on third down.
