Forest Park wins tri-meet in golf

Robert Blumer led the Forest Park golf team to a win over Gar-Field and Potomac Wednesday. The Bruins finished with a 160, the Indians scored a 200 and the Panthers shot a 202.
Blumer finished first among all players shooting a 37. Kyle Carpenter added a 40 for the Bruins.
Ryan Moriarty shot a Potomac-best 45.
Dylan Russell led the Gar-Field squad with a 46.
FIELD HOCKEY
• WOODBRIDGE 1, FOREST PARK 0: Audrey King netted the lone goal of the game, an unassisted score, to open the Vikings' Cardinal District schedule with a victory. The Vikings improved to 3-1 overall.
• CULPEPER 2, OSBOURN 0: The Eagles fell to 0-2 in Cedar Run District play with the loss. Goalie Michelle Clark recorded 12 saves for the Eagles, but Culpeper's Jessie Narkashi's two scores were more than Osbourn could overcome.
volleyball
• MOUNTAIN VIEW 3, POTOMAC 2: After taking the first game 22-25, the Panthers struggled in the second and third, falling 25-15 and 28-26.
Potomac earned a 17-25 win in the fourth, forcing a tie breaker, but lost 15-12 to drop to 6-3 overall on the young season.
The Panthers begin Cardinal District play next week.
• BRENTSVILLE 3, CENTRAL 0: The Tigers recorded their first win of the season with a sweep on the strength of Paige Knowlton's 10 kills and three service aces. Brentsville won by scores of 25-17, 25-12 and 25-13 to improve to 1-5 overall and 1-3 in Northwestern District play.
Christine Herndon added seven kills while Sammi Gough dished 14 assists and served two aces. Kelli Hedrick scored five aces for the team high. Johanna Hummel recorded three blocks.
