Ryan Wood (Hylton) was named the Conference USA Hitter of the Week.
The East Carolina junior shortstop scored 10 runs and hit .476 (10-for-21) with two doubles, one homer and four RBI as the Pirates went 5-0 this past week. Wood also has a current 10-game hitting streak. At Old Dominion on Tuesday, Wood went 3-for-6 and scored the winning run in the 10th inning of ECU’s 20-13 win. At the Keith Le-Clair Classic this past weekend, Wood hit .500 with seven runs scored and recorded a total of 10 bases, which led the tournament.
