George Mason University has made a contract offer for its vacant women’s basketball head coaching position and an official announcement could come as early as Wednesday, according to a school spokesman.
The Patriots, who went 9-21 last season, have been searching for a new coach since Debbie Taneyhill announced her resignation on March 24.
Former Forest Park coach Chrissy Kelly, who just completed her first season as a George Mason assistant, is a potential candidate for the position. Three Forest Park players, Deidre Richardson, Briana Scott and Amber Epps, have already accepted scholarship offers to play for the Patriots.
