Will Thomas of the Men’s Basketball team was named 2007-2008 Male Student-Athlete of the Year and Dan Jaycox of the baseball team was given The Aimee Willard commemorative award, which is presented to the Mason student-athlete who best exemplifies intensity, consistency of purpose, achievement and teamwork.
King, who was also named First-Team All CAA helped the women’s lacrosse team to a program record 12 wins overall and a record five conference wins.
Thomas was a key component in the men’s basketball team winning its first CAA tournament championship since 2001 and its third appearance in the NCAA tournament this decade. Thomas, too, was named First-Team All CAA as well as the CAA All-Defensive Team. Thomas also finished his career among the top 10 all-time in school history in scoring, rebounding and field goal percentage.
Jaycox has started 10 games for the Patriots baseball team in 2008. For his career, Jaycox is third all-time in strikeouts, fourth all-time in strikeouts per nine innings, fifth all-time in strikeout-to-walk ratio and 15th all-time in games started.

Breau set the Patriots single season record for home runs with 11 and had the second highest RBI total with 48. Jones batted .287 for the season with a .419 slugging percentage and team-high two triples as the Patriots finished 19-32 for the season.
