LYNCHBURG—The Potomac Nationals held a lead of 3-1 entering the bottom of the fifth inning, and was unable to hold it as the Lynchburg Hillcats plated five runs to go on to a 10-4 victory.
The Hillcats followed the five-run fifth with a three-run sixth to seal the victory.
Brian Friday and Miles Durham each had three hits for the Hillcats, with two runs scored. Durham had two RBI, as did Kent Sakamoto, who had two hits, including a double with two RBI.
Jared Keel had three hits and two RBI, with a double and Kris Watts two hits, including a double and an RBI.
Atahualpa Severino took the loss for Potomac, recording only one out, while allowing five runs on four hits and two walks.
Luis Atilano worked five innings for the Nationals, allowing one run on four hits before giving way to Severino.
For Potomac at the plate, Andrew Lefave had a triple and a stolen base, while Michael Martinez had two RBI. Daniel Lyons also had a stolen base.
Dustin Molleken was the winning pitcher for Lynchburg.
