Apple Federal Credit Union has kicked off its annual Collect for Kids Program.

Apple branches are accepting new backpacks and monetary donations. Donations can be made at the credit union or through Appleā€™s Facebook page, www.facebook.com/AppleFederalCreditUnion.

Apple will match donations up to $5,000 through Aug. 15.

In Fairfax County, Apple has joined forces with Fairfax County Public Schools, the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department and more than a dozen non-profit organizations to collect back packs and cash donations. At Apple branches in Loudoun, Prince William, Winchester and Stafford counties, donors are also invited to drop off school supplies such as glue sticks, safety scissors and pencils, in addition to backpacks.

Visit www.applefcu.org/AppleWeb/CollectForKids for a full list of items that can be dropped off and drop-off locations.
