Waples Mill school group creates valentines

Volunteers hosted by the STAMP committee of Waples Mill Elementary Schools recently participated in a valentine-making effort in support of foster-care children who are now in college.

More than 90 STAMP (science, technology, art, music, philanthropy) volunteers from local schools recently partnered with Volunteer Fairfax to create nearly 700 valentines for the Foster Care to Success program.

The valentines will be sent to former foster-care children who are now in college.

STAMP is a committee of Waples Mill Elementary School. The school community was joined by others from Hunters Woods and Flint Hill elementary schools; Franklin Middle School; Oakton High School; Girl Scout Troops 40, 515 and 3173; and Waples Mill alumni in the effort.
