Hundreds of people from Canada to Florida reported seeing a brilliant streak of light shoot across the sky Friday evening.

There were some reports that it crashed to Earth near the Maryland-Delaware state line but those reports were still unconfirmed late Friday.

    About 15 minutes ago a report came in that a "fireball" crashed up on RIch Mountain in the Randolph County, WV area. This streak of light was seen not too long before, so its possible this is the site...news is supposed to be on their way up there. This would be exciting and interesting, but yet sad at the same time. Rich Mountain is a historic Civil War battlefield site
