Two people were flown to the hospital after a crash in Fauquier County Wednesday afternoon.

Traffic was stopped on Va. 29 at Old Alexandria Turnpike for about a half hour while crews worked to get the patients to the awaiting helicopters, Fauquier County Sheriff's Office spokesman James Hartman said.

Victoria Ann Haley, 20, of Broad Run, was driving a 2010 Toyota Corolla, Hartman said, and was turning left from Old Alexandria Turnpike onto northbound Va. 29. As she pulled across southbound Va. 29, her Corolla was struck by a 2002 Oldsmobile Bravada.

Haley and her passenger were taken by helicopter to Inova Fairfax Hospital.

An ambulance took the driver of the Oldsmobile, Elizabeth Foley, 67, of Warrenton, to Fauquier Hospital, according to Hartman.

The Fauquier County Sheriff's Office continues to investigate the cause of the crash.
