Winter storm warning for Northern Va. extended to Friday morning

The governor has declared a state of emergency, the Virginia National Guard is mobilized and a winter storm warning goes into effect for Northern Virginia at 8 p.m.  tonight.

Forecasters say the region is facing the biggest winter storm we’ve seen since 2010, one that will bring heavy, wet snow, gusty winds and the potential for mass power outages.
