Virginia Rep. Rob Wittman, R-1st District, is now accepting applications for a “wounded warrior fellow” to work out of the Stafford district office and support the office's military and veterans-related casework.
The Wounded Warrior Fellowship Program was established by the House of Representatives to provide employment opportunities for wounded or disabled veterans within member offices. The job is open to veterans who are honorably discharged, have been released from active duty within the last five years, are at pay grades E-5 or O-3 and have at or below a 20 percent service-connected disability. Purple Heart recipients are exempt from the service-connected disability-rating requirement.
The paid position would last for two years. Interested veterans should submit a resume, a copy of their last DD214 issued and a letter from the VA indicating a 20 percent or greater rating to firstname.lastname@example.org.
