Patricia Marie Moll Granger, age 94, of Woodbridge, VA, passed away on January 8, 2018.
The beloved wife of 65 years to the late Dr. Herbert Horace Granger, she was the loving mother of Lynne Ambrose and husband John, Scott Granger, Sr. and wife Mary, and the late Ann Finney and her husband Tom Finney. She cherished her grandchildren Keeley Ann Ambrose (Philip Gudlewski), Dr. Casey Mark Granger Ambrose, Scott Edwin Granger, Jr. (Elizabeth), Richard Adam Rice Granger (Joyce), Laurel Elizabeth Finney, and Kerry Marie Decker (Nathan), and she was overjoyed to know and love her seven great-grandchildren, Andrea, Clara, Adele, Stephen, James, Grace, and Peter Granger. She was the loving daughter of the late Rev. Edwin Moll and Mildred (Nielson) Moll, and sister of her dear late brother Robert E. Moll (late Bobby Lou).
Patricia, known as Patty to family and friends, was an office manager for her late husband Herbert’s dental practice in Madison Wisconsin, before retiring and living in sunny south Florida. Volunteerism was a large part of her life. She grew up in Madison, married in 1945, and raised her family in the Moll family home in Shorewood Hills. She was an active volunteer at both Luther Memorial Church, where her father was minister for many years, and active in Midvale Community Luthern Church, also in Madison. Patty also volunteered as a tour guide for the State Historical Society, and a singer with the Shorewood Singers. In Florida, she volunteered with the Florida Bonsai Society, where her husband practiced the miniature tree art, and was a member of the South-East Florida Orchestra planning and support team. Patty was also active in the Lehigh Acres Faith Lutheran Church, and a member of the church choir. She was always an avid gardener and bird lover, having enviable perennial gardens in both Madison and Lehigh Acres Florida. After moving to Westminster in Lake Ridge Virginia, she became fast friends with the Great Blue Heron affectionately known as Harry. She also sang with the choir at Westminster - Lake Ridge.
The family will receive friends at the Mountcastle Turch Funeral Home, 4143 Dale Boulevard, Dale City, VA 22193 on Saturday, January 13, 2018 from 10:00 AM until the time of her Life Celebration at 11:00 AM. Interment will be on Monday, January 15, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Quantico National Military Cemetery, where she will be reunited with her late husband Herbert and late daughter Ann.
