BATTLEFIELD 73, STONEWALL JACKSON 55: For the second straight game, the Bobcats recorded 10 3-pointers in remaining unbeaten in the Cedar Run District Friday.

Will Bounds led the way with five to finish with a team-high 21 points. Brayden Gault added three 3-pointers and totaled 19 points overall. Chase Pagon was the other Battlefield player to reach double figures with 13.

Bounds scored 14 points, including 12 from the 3-point line, to help Battlefield outscore Stonewall 25-5 in the fourth quarter.

The Bobcats have now won seven straight in improving to 3-0 in the district and 12-3 overall.

For Stonewall Jackson (1-2, 9-5), Jordan Gibson had 20 points.

COLGAN 47, FOREST PARK 38: Kaeleb Carter led the Sharks with 21 points. Colgan is now 2-3 in the Cardinal District and 5-9 overall.

Carter was 8 of 10 from the free-throw line and tallied three 3-pointers.

Forest Park (2-4, 7-7) was led by Jackson Johnson with 9 points.

FREEDOM-WOODBRIDGE 56, WOODBRIDGE 36: Caron Forde scored 14 points and added 14 rebounds, one steal and one block as the Eagles won their first Cardinal District game of the season.

Edward Jones had 12 points for Freedom (1-3, 3-9).

Derrick Hopkins and Tyler Coleman each had 11 points for Woodbridge (2-3, 5-8).

HYLTON 64, GAR-FIELD 56: Marcus Stephens scored 22 points, Kristopher Moore 15 and Nick Peterson 13 in the Bulldogs’ Cardinal District win.

Hylton is 5-0 in the district and 9-5 overall.

Christian Matthews was Gar-Field’s leading scorer with 15. Montel Byers added 14 and Antwi Asante 12 for the Indians (1-4, 2-12).

OSBOURN 63, PATRIOT 55: The Eagles (2-2, 10-6) handed the Pioneers their first loss in the Cedar Run District. Connors Withers led Osbourn with 23 points, including 15 from the 3-point line. Jon Hylton added 20.

Ike Onwuka led Patriot (2-1, 8-5) with 18 points and Drake Marshall had 15.


BRENTSVILLE 34, SKYLINE 30: The Tigers won their 3A Northwestern District opener Friday.

Catharine Forst led Brentsville (1-0, 6-6) with 11 points. Rachel Espos and Shannon Hutchens each had eight.

WOODBRIDGE 68, FREEDOM 40: Paris McBride scored 12 points, Aaliyah Pitts 11 and Jasmine Forte and Alia Denwiddie 10 each as the Vikings improved to 5-0 in the Cardinal District and 9-4 overall.

Woodbridge led 23-8 at the end of the first quarter. The Vikings converted seven 3-pointers.

Pitts had 15 rebounds and four assists. McBride recorded five steals.

COLGAN 34, FOREST PARK 20: The Sharks (4-1 in Cardinal District, 8-5 overall) won their fourth straight. Gabby Cadle led Colgan with 14 points.

Lauren Palmateer was the top scorer for Forest Park (1-5, 6-9) with five points. Colgan led at halftime 12-10.

BATTLEFIELD 59, STONEWALL JACKSON 52: Serenity Turnball recorded 20 points and 14 rebounds off the bench in the Bobcats’ Cedar Run District win.

Battlefield is now 3-1 in the district and 7-7 overall.

HYLTON 48, GAR-FIELD 15: Camahni Kelly scored 20 points and Josie Rodas 12 (all on 3-pointers) in the Bulldogs' win. Hylton is 2-3 in the Cardinal District and 7-7 overall.

SETON 58, CALVARY TEMPLE 28: Mary Pennefather had 17 points and Lexi Chipps had 14 points and nine assists for Seton (9-4). Rachel Clifton grabbed nine rebounds to go along with eight points.
