Joey Slye

North Stafford graduate Joey Slye signed May 6 as a free agent with the New York Giants.

The former Virginia Tech kicker was added to the Giants’ active roster after receiving an invite to rookie mini-camp this past weekend.

Slye attended rookie mini-camps last year with the Cleveland Browns and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an undrafted rookie free agent.

Slye was a four-year starter for the Hokies and is the program’s all-time leading scorer.

He was named to the 2016 all-ACC coaches first team.

The Giants re-signed their second-team all-pro kicker Aldrich Rosas in March.
