Katie McCreary

Katie McCreary is Director of Development and Curriculum Development and proud Teaching Artist for Educational Theatre Company (ETC), based in Arlington.  Additionally, Katie works as a Theatrical Lighting Designer throughout the DC-Baltimore region, including her work as a company member with both Chesapeake Shakespeare Company and Rorschach Theatre.  In her work with ETC, Katie has grown overall contributed income by 12% annually while also increasing their in-school programming, forged a partnership with the National Portrait Gallery, and helped increase specialized programming.  Katie has also held leadership positions in fine dining restaurants (with a celebrity chef), at theatres from New York to Georgia as a Production Manager, and even a one-time stint as a Lamaze coach! Nowadays, when she is not chatting with donors or designing lights around the city, Katie is often surrounded by her students, starting as young as age 3 but going all the way up to age 104, sharing her love of theatre as she guides them in finding their own voice and telling their own story.  Known throughout schools as “Ms. Katie,” her contagious passion and strong leadership continually inspire new generations of students!
