Lekeisha Terrell

Lekeisha Terrell MD, MS is a double Board Certified Pediatrician and Adolescent Medicine Specialist.  Her passion, hard work and dedication to improving the health and well-being of children and adolescents have made her a rising star in the medical field.  She is the current Medical Director for Adolescent Health Services and the Medical Director of School Based Health Centers (SBHCs) for Unity Health Care. She provides care to homeless, low-income and uninsured populations in Washington DC and has worked on achieving health care equity among children and adolescents.  As Medical Director, she operates SBHCs, providing health care inside the walls of the school.  She has also developed, implemented and operates Teen Clinics within her organization to focus on the special health care needs of adolescents.  Dr. Terrell finds time to actively serve in her community and at her church, Alfred Street Baptist Church, though multiple ministries. Because of her commitment to patients and her work in the community, she has received the Unity Health Care Service Leadership Award in 2013; Unity Health Care Service Award in 2016; Shining Star Award for Leadership, Perseverance and Determination in 2017; National Urban League Young Professionals  (NULYP) Member of the Year for the Eastern Region in 2017; the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce 40 under 40 Award in 2017; a gubernatorial appointment in 2018; and the NULYP Honors Award in 2019. Dr. Terrell loves the KC Chiefs, playing tennis, cooking, watching movies and traveling.
