Fire crews on Monday battled an “extensive” blaze at ASAP Auto Recycling and Salvage on Va. 234 near the Prince William landfill.
The fire broke out around 4 p.m. in a two-story metal recycling building and spread to junk cars, said Prince William fire and rescue Assistant Chief Matt Smolsky.
Traffic was disrupted in the immediate area as firefighters doused the blaze. The scene was checked for hazardous materials due to the junk cars.
One person at the salvage yard suffered a non life-threatening injury, Smolsky said.
