An employee of the Martin K. Alloy Boys & Girls Club of Manassas has been charged after "inappropriate contact" with a 14-year-old girl, authorities said.
On Nov. 5, Manassas city police began an investigation into alleged "carnal knowledge of a 14-year-old female victim" this summer.
The suspect, identified as 28-year-old Derek Branch, and the victim met at Boys & Girls Club of Manassas, where he is listed on the club's website as athletics coordinator.
On Nov. 9, detectives charged Branch with carnal knowledge of a child, city police said in a news release.
Branch was held without bond at the Prince William-Manassas regional jail. A court date is set for Jan. 17.
