Police and school officials are investigating two threats of violence at Woodbridge High School this week.
The first, drawn on a wall at the school on Old Bridge Road in Lake Ridge, read: “1/4/16 - 1/8/16 The school will be shot.” Police investigated and found the threat was no credible.
The second, which school officials announced late Thursday in a Facebook post, was similar.
Prince William police Sgt. Jonathan Perok said police are working with school officials to investigate. There will be an increased presence at the school as a precaution.
“At this point we have no credible information that this is a legitimate threat,” Perok said.
The second threat, school officials said, was also written on a wall and threatened violence on a specific date next week.
“The community will be advised if police determine there is any credible threat or need for special precautions,” school officials said on Facebook. “We take this very seriously. Whomever is responsible will face serious disciplinary action.”
