A man dressed as a woman spied on a woman and her 5-year-old daughter Sunday under a bathroom stall at Potomac Mills mall. Police say they believe he’s the same man behind a similar crime at the Woodbridge Walmart in May.
Officers were called to the mall about 3:10 p.m., where the victim – a 35-year-old Stafford woman – said she and her daughter were using the restroom when she saw a flash and then a mirror protruding from a neighboring stall.
The woman exited her stall to confront the suspect and saw a man dressed in women’s clothing coming out of a neighboring stall, said Prince William police Sgt. Jonathan Perok.
The victim struggled with the suspect, who fled the mall and was last seen running through the parking lot. Officers searched for the man but couldn’t find him.
The peeper matches the description of a man involved in a similar incident May 15 at the Walmart on Worth Avenue in Woodbridge.
In that case, a 53-year-old Woodbridge woman told police she was using the bathroom when an unknown man dressed in women’s clothing stood in front of her stall and tried to use a mirror to peep inside. The victim confronted the suspect, who fled the restroom.
In both cases the suspect was described as white or Hispanic, 35 to 45 years old, about 5 feet 10 inches tall and 220 pounds. In the case at the wall, he wore a long black and brown wig, a pink shirt, black Capri-style pants, black and white shoes and was carrying a large red and black handbag.
