LATEST: School closings and delays for Monday, Jan. 8, 2018.

Dangerous cold temperatures and roads and sidewalks still covered with snow in some areas have school systems in Northern Virginia making early calls on closings and delays for Friday, Jan. 5.

All Prince William County Public Schools are closed Jan. 5, code red for employees, due to predictions of dangerously cold temperatures. SACC will not open. All scheduled activities are cancelled. Telework subject to policy.

All Manassas City Public Schools will be closed Friday, January 5, 2018 due to the forecasted wind chill advisory and extremely low temperatures. Code Blue for employees.

Manassas Park City Schools will be closed on Friday, Jan. 5, due to predictions of dangerously cold temperatures. Employees Code Red

All Stafford County Public Schools are closed on Friday, Jan. 5, due to inclement weather. SCPS employees will have a Code 2. Liberal leave is in effect. Administrative offices will open at 10:00a.m.

All Fairfax County Public Schools will be closed Friday, Jan. 5, due to forecast unsafe wind chills. School offices and central offices will open two hours late, to be opened by 10 am (Condition 5) with an unscheduled leave policy in effect for 12-month employees.

Loudoun County Public Schools will be closed Friday, Jan. 5, with Administrative Offices Opening On Time.

All Fauquier County Public Schools will be closed Friday, Jan. 5. This includes all after-school activities.  Offices will open on a two-hour delay.

All Arlington Public schools and offices will open two hours late. The Extended Day program will also open two hours late and morning field trips are canceled. Essential employees and food service workers should report to work at their regularly scheduled time. All other employees should report to work two hours past their usual start time.

All Alexandria City Public Schools will be opening two hours late, Friday, January 5, 2018.

The Falls Church City Public Schools will operate on a two-hour delay, Friday, Jan. 5, based on road conditions, sub-zero wind chill, and the timing of weather.  FCCPS Day Care will open on time.
