Updated list of closings, cancellations and delays in Northern Virginia due to forecast storm conditions this weekend.

-- The Open House at Evergreen Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad in Haymarket scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 3 from 9am-11am has been cancelled.

-- Woodbridge Senior High School Class of 2017 and the Student Council Association are proud to bring you 'Scream' on the Green, an outdoor movie event featuring Monsters, Inc. on Oct. 10, moved from Oct. 3 due to inclement weather. Enjoy pumpkin-decorating, character meet-and-greets, face-painting, and a variety of games.  Gates will open at 5pm and the movie will begin at sundown on the baseball field.  Tickets are $5 each and children under 6 are free.

-- The Hylton Performing Arts Center in Manassas has canceled the Discovery Forum scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 3. This cancellation includes the 4 p.m. performance of ‘A Penny Saved’ by Acting for Young People. Please note that the evening performance of To Swing Through the Sky will go on as scheduled.

-- The Manassas Chorale concert "Princesses and Pirates" originally scheduled for Friday Oct. 2 at the Hylton Performing Arts Center has been rescheduled for Saturday Oct. 17 at 7:30 at the Hylton. Ticket holders may contact the Hylton for a refund if needed.

-- The 20th Annual Oktoberfest celebration at Fort Belvoir, scheduled for Oct. 1-4, has been canceled due to the projected inclement weather forecast for the area. Oktoberfest will not be rescheduled this year.

-- Dumfries Triangle Volunteer Fire Department has canceled bingo on Saturday Oct. 3 due to hurricane Joaquin.

-- The McLean Project for the Arts has postponed this weekend's MPAartfest until Columbus Day, Oct. 12

-- Anne E. Moncure's second helping clothing sale scheduled for this weekend will be postponed to Oct. 17.

-- The Americans in Wartime Museum open house scheduled for Oct. 3 and 4 has been canceled.

-- The Manassas Fall Jubilee scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 3 has been rescheduled for Saturday, Oct. 24.

-- The Youth for Tomorrow Joe Gibbs Country Fair in Bristow scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 3 has been canceled. The auction portion of the event is rescheduled for Oct. 17.

-- The Thomas Balch Library’s Walking Tour of Leesburg scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 3 has been canceled.

-- Household Hazardous & eWaste Drop Off scheduled for Oct. 3 in Manassas has been canceled. Make sure to stop by the Transfer station for RecyleFest2 on Nov. 7.

-- Loudoun County's largest craft fair, the Waterford Homes Tour & Crafts Exhibit, scheduled for Oct. 2-4 has been canceled.

--  The Food and Funfest for Koinonia originally scheduled for Saturday October 3rd has been canceled due to the impending weather this weekend. The Funfest was an event to raise funds for Koinoina, a local food bank that provides short term assistance, food and clothing to the Kingstowne/Franconia area. -- The Leesburg Volunteer Fire Company's annual Fire Prevention Open House has been rescheduled from Saturday, Oct. 3, to Saturday, Oct. 17. It is slated to be held from noon to 4 p.m. at Fire Station 20, at 61 Plaza St. NE in Leesburg.

Yup,regarding the schools.. the morning might be ok but if you can not bring them back home safely in the afternoon then play it safe.
