Students at Ashlawn Elementary School in Arlington on June 7 enjoyed the fruits of their labors – more than 800 students and staff were served a healthy, multi-ingredient salad by Reevesland Learning Center, grown on the grounds of the historic Reevesland property as part of an initiative called Lawns 2 Lettuce 4 Lunch. The school-community partnership began in 2010, and this year there was enough organic lettuce cultivated for 100 pounds to be donated to the Arlington Food Assistance Center.
