[UPDATE: The bill has now moved onto the floor of the state Senate, having cleared the Senate Committee on Finance on 12-0 vote on Feb. 12.]

The House of Delegates on Jan. 29 voted 85-14 on legislation patroned by Del. S. Chris Jones (R-Suffolk) to provide economic incentives for Amazon to locate in Crystal City.

The vote moves the measure on to the state Senate.

A similar bill, patroned by state Sen. Frank Ruff Jr. (R-Clarksville) has cleared both houses of the legislature and now awaits the expected signature of Gov. Northam.

[thumbdown]Amazon doesn't need anything from anyone. Arlington County needs tens of millions from the General Assembly for public infrastructure related to Amazon's arrival.
