Entered in this year’s Boston Marathon, the world’s oldest and most prestigious running event, to be held Monday, April 17, are 76 Arlington runners.
Starting the race will be William Adams, Cathy Ahn, Susan Ashcom, Jennifer Bell, Melissa Bishop, Ian Blackwell, Melissa Bodeau, Krista Breitzman, Katrina Brubaker, Cristina Burbach, Catherine Burke, Kelly Buroker, Dave Cahill, Taneen Carvell, Huan-Chou Chang, Brian Danza, Melissa Divecchia, Carrie Dunn, Katharine Endres, James Engle, Alexis Fairbanks, Jonathan Finer, Scott Foster, Marcia Frazho, Dale Galvin, Mario Garcia, Jacob Gilden, Caryn Ginsberg and Melinda Gish.
Also, Melissa Hardt, Michelle Harlow, Sonja Hinish, Stuart Jones, Leslie Kindling, Ashley Kraus, Daryle Lademan, Sean Laffey, Claire Lewis, Matt Maccaroni, Marshall Martin, Beth McCann, Justin McCarthy, Marty McCormick, Michael Naff, Donald Names, Scott O’Neil, Sarah Park, Kimi Parkhill, Jeffrey Pasqual, Adam Pearlman, Rachel Penney, Angelie Petersen, Katherine Price and Michael Pryce-Jones.
In addition will be runners Emmanuel Quinn, Jose Ramos, Kenny Rayner, Joanna Schmickel, Andrew Scott, Charles Shackelford, Casey Shellenberger, Elyse Shimada, Lauren Skowera, Bradley Smith, Erica Stoltenberg, Yuko Takakusaki, Julia Taylor, Jordan Thomas, Richard Viola, Kristen Vretakis, Cindy Walls, Michael Wardian, Tom Wheeler, Dustin Whitlow, Reynolds Wilson and Jay Jacob Wind.
Last year, Wardian, 42, was Arlington’s top finisher, 38th male overall in 2:31:39, and was second in his age group. Whitlow, 29, finished 103rd among men in 2:38:45. Keely Eckberg, 24, earned 204th place among women in 3:08:03.
Of those 76 runners, the 67-year-old Wind has run the most Boston Marathons with 31 total, starting in 1979. He has run the last 21 straight. Overall, Wind has run 178 marathons, with five being ultra-marathons.
