U.S. Navy Ensign John Deeter of Arlington is serving aboard the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Stethem (DDG 63).

The Stethem and its crew are forward-deployed to the U.S. Navy 7th Fleet area of operations in support of security and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.

The ship, which was commissioned in 1995, has a crew of more than 30 commissioned officers, nearly 40 chief petty officers and more than 200 enlisted personnel.
