Volunteer Arlington Day 2015

Volunteers gather before heading out to their assignments during the 2015 Volunteer Arlington Day, an initiative of the Arlington Chamber of Commerce.

More than 140 local volunteers from Arlington Chamber of Commerce members partnered with local nonprofit organizations at the 16th annual Volunteer Arlington Day, held April 21.

Organizations that received support ranged from the Arlington Food Assistance Center and the Reading Connection to Community Resources and Homeward Trails Animal Rescue.

“Our 700 members consist of some great companies and individuals who are unbelievably charitable to those truly in need in Arlington,” said Kevin Shooshan, the 2015 Chamber chairman.

Firms that supplied personnel to assist with the effort included Ameriprise Financial, Arlington Law Group, Arlington Realty, BAE Systems, Ballston Business Improvement District, Bank of Georgetown, Burdette Smith & Bish LLC, Carr Workplaces, DoubleTree by Hilton Washington D.C. Crystal City, First Citizens Bank, Hyatt Regency Crystal City, Law Office of Thomas J. Kniffen, LMO Advertising, Main Street Bank, McEnroe Voice & Data, Meaningful Evidence LLC, NeoNiche Strategies, Segue Technologies, Self Storage Plus, Simplify You, Strategic Consulting Partners, TD Bank, the Shooshan Co. and Washington First Bank.
