The League of Women Voters of Arlington will hold “Columbia Pike in Transition,” a forum on the future of the corridor, on Wednesday, Nov. 19 at 7 p.m. at Arlington Mill Community Center.
The event was planned before yesterday’s announcement that the County Board would scrap the proposed Columbia Pike streetcar, but the timing makes the forum even more relevant, League officials said.
Panelists will look at how education, economic development and housing will be impacted by changes that are coming to the corridor, even without the streetcar.
The panel will include Takis Karantonis (Columbia Pike Revitalization Organization); Monique O’Grady (education activist); Mary Rouleau (Alliance for Housing Solutions); and Lloyd Wolf (award-winning photographer, Columbia Pike documentarian).
A reception will precede the event at 6:30 p.m. Parking is available under the community center.
