The deadline is approaching to register for Volunteer Arlington’s second annual “Arlington Cares” celebration, to be held the evening of Tuesday, July 24 at the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association in Ballston.
“There are countless ways that Arlingtonians serve others and care for their community. These daily actions feed our hearts and remind us of the true meaning of success in life. And it is this volunteer spirit that we celebrate at Arlington Cares,” said Lisa Fikes, executive director of Volunteer Arlington, an initiative of the Leadership Center for Excellence.
In addition to a number of special awards, volunteers who have spent 100 hours or more of their time volunteering in the community over the course of one year (July 1, 2017 through June 30, 2018) will be recognized and honored.
The event is free, but registration is required because dinner will be served. For information, see the Web site at www.volunteerarlington.org.
