Ornery Beer Company will land in Fairfax after closing the Woodbridge location in March.

The company plans to open in a smaller space in Old Town Plaza at the intersection of Route 123 and North Street, owner Randy Barnette announced Thursday afternoon.

The new smaller Public House will be home to a three-barrel pilot brewery, he said, with a similar menu and experience for patrons to the previous location.

Ornery announced it was closing the Woodbridge site when it was unable to negotiate a smaller space at the Potomac Festival shopping center.

“We do not have an estimate on opening yet but the good news is the location is a closed restaurant and our reimaging of the location and installation of the pilot brewery will be drastically shorter than building a new location,” Barnette said.

The company will also be relocating the main production brewery in the Bristow area and expects to open a taproom at the site within the first six months.

Barnette also vowed to return to Woodbridge.

The company will be launching a new Kickstarter Campaign to raise funds for the relaunch and continues to look for new business partners.
