A body found in the woods near Little Rocky Run in Centreville Sunday morning has been identified.

Brian Murphy, 61, of Alexandria, was reported missing in Hamden County, Conn., on Oct. 24.

The body was found around 9 a.m. by a search and rescue team that had narrowed its search for Murphy to the area, according to police officials.

Murphy was reported missing to Hamden Police after he didn't attend church and didn't show up for work in Fairfax for three days.

At this point, foul play is not suspected.

Any details on state of decomp? Is it related to a missing persons case?

The article stated he was reported missing to police in CT. Which is where is family lives. He has lived in N VA for 20+ years. He went missing while on trail with a local running group late morning Saturday Oct 20. He was reported missing by his sister in CT Wed or Thu (Oct 24 or 25th). Fairfax County reported him as missing Saturday night Oct 27. They recovered his body Sunday morning less than 12 hours after he was reported missing by Ffx County. Not sure why the state of decomposition would matter to you.
