Vienna police generic

A resident who lives in the 100 block of Tapawingo Road, S.W., was walking her dog at a park in Fairfax County on June 19 at noon when they came across a raccoon. The two animals got into a short skirmish, and the dog bit the raccoon, police said.

At the direction of the Fairfax County Health Department, a Vienna animal-control officer advised the resident that the dog needed to have its rabies vaccination immediately updated with the veterinarian and that the dog was to be placed on a 45-day quarantine.
