Oakton Women’s Club members got an eyeful of fashion, bought tickets for raffle prizes and ate tasty salads for lunch April 3 during the organization’s annual Fashion Show & Luncheon at the Country Club of Fairfax.
Club members Sheila Dunheimer, Rachel Rice, Jami Obermayer, Veronika McKeever, Allyson McGill, Penny Gilbert and Wildred Elam took to the runway in a variety of outfits, ranging from summery and flowing to a comfortable-looking ensemble topped with a bathrobe.
Organizers paused for several minutes between sets to allow the women to change outfits, which were provided by Soft Surroundings at Fairfax Corner.
The event raised money for the Shepherd’s Center of Oakton-Vienna and No Kid Hungry, a program that provides meals to students at some local schools, including Luther Jackson Middle School in Merrifield.
The club, established in 1976, has donated nearly $100,000 in proceeds from the annual fashion show since 1987.
