One firefighter was injured and five residents were displaced due to a house fire in Centreville early on Friday, March 30.

Crews were called to the home on the 6500 block of Trillium House Lane shortly after midnight and found heavy fire showing from the second floor, according to a Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department news release.

No residents were home at the time of the fire, which was discovered by a neighbor.

No civilians were injured, but one firefighter was treated at an area burn unit for injuries that were not life-threatening.

Red Cross is assisting the displaced residents. Damages from the fire was estimated to be $147,500.

Fire Investigators determined that the fire started in the attic area, according to the release, but the cause is currently under investigation.
