4. Noise complaints from Metro neighbors
InsideNoVa heard from commuters facing longer trips after Metro closed six stations for the summer. But neighbors of the stations have different complaints.
Construction and repair of platforms is keeping residents up at night, reports WTOP. “There’s just no way I’d be able to survive this whole summer, just, you know, jackhammering right outside my window at one in the morning,” Debra Bell told WTOP’s Max Smith. “Even with the windows closed, it just sounds like they’re jackhammering in your bedroom.”
3. Sexual assault in Arlington elevator
Arlington police are asking for help identifying a man suspected of sexual assault in Crystal City on Thursday.
Around 8:39 a.m., the man followed the victim into a commercial building in the 1500 block of Richmond Highway, police spokesperson Ashley Savage said. The man cornered the victim inside an elevator and inappropriately touched and sexually assaulted the victim before witnesses entered the area, causing the suspect to flee on foot.
2. Body identified in Lake Barcroft drowning
Fairfax County police are investigating an apparent drowning in Lake Barcroft after a body was found early Wednesday morning. The man has been identified as 55-year-old Lee Bowersett of Falls Church.
1. Indecent exposure at mall food court
A Lorton man was arrested Wednesday after, police say, he exposed himself in the food court at Potomac Mills mall. Lenroy Lee Williams, 67, of 9625 Hagel Circle in Lorton, was charged with indecent exposure.
