Northern Virginia’s next grocery store competitor will soon open its doors in Manassas. The first Lidl location in the D.C. metro will host a ribbon cutting ceremony at 8 a.m. Sept. 14 at 11782 Sudley Manor Drive.
The grocer will be offering get-them-while-you-can special offers for the grand opening, according to a news release. The first 100 customers to arrive will also receive a wooden coin for a chance to win up to $100 in Lidl gift cards. Shoppers can also sample Lidl’s products and get a complimentary Lidl reusable bag while supplies last.
Special deals and giveaways are expected to continue through the grand opening weekend.
Lidl stores feature an easy-to-shop layout of 20,000 square feet with only six aisles. Like ALDI, Lidl’s shelves are mostly stocked with store brand products.
Lidl also offers an “ever-changing selection” of products each week that will be in stores for a limited time. The selection will include fitness gear, small kitchen appliances, toys, and outdoor furniture, among other non-food items.
The Lidl Manassas location will be open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Sunday.
