March 20: A handful of residents made it out to the Neabsco Creek Boardwalk as the community began practicing social distancing. A nearby playground was closed for fear of spreading the virus.

March 17: Store shelves were empty and the mall was clearing out as concerns about the coronavirus increased in Northern Virginia. Starbucks and the mall food court had roped off seating to keep people from gathering. The mall would close the following day, and Starbucks closed most locations to all service by the end of the week.
