Family caregivers have an opportunity to share their struggles and tell AARP Virginia and lawmakers about the help they need at an event at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, at Montclair Community Library, 5049 Waterway Drive.  Refreshments will be served.

Every day, more than 1 million Virginians care for older parents, spouses and adult children with disabilities, helping with everything from driving to the doctor’s office or grocery store to balancing checkbooks and helping with medical care.

Local legislators have been invited to the forum, and the caregivers’ input will help shape how AARP Virginia advocates for them at the General Assembly. AARP also will share the stories with lawmakers across the state.

The event is free, but registration is required at 877-926-8300 or
