Local police officers and firefighters took to the ice for the third annual Guns and Hoses charity hockey game July 13 at Prince William Ice Center. The event brought in over $1,350 that will be divided between both charities. The police team won 9-8.

The fire department team played for the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation, which provides resources to assist the families of fallen firefighters and works within the fire service community to reduce firefighter deaths and injuries. Donations can be made directly to NFFF at https://www.firehero.org.

The police department team played for Law Enforcement United Team Prince William. LEU’s mission is to honor the fallen and remember survivors. Team Prince William joins with officers and surviving family members from around the country to ride bicycles 250 miles to Washington, D.C. Funds raised support Concerns of Police Survivors (COPS) for its Kid’s Camp, and the Officer Down Memorial Page (ODMP). Donations can be made directly to LEU Team Prince William at http://www.pwcleu.com.
