Locals put on their running shoes and made their sprint across Prince William County to the entrance of the U.S. Marine Corps base. Law enforcement officers helped escort the runners through the county, as they made their way to the finish line.
"This is a partnership between the special olympics and law enforcement agencies across the state and across the country. Yesterday, we received the torch from Fairfax County Police and we will be picking it up at the fire station in Montclair to run it down to the Quantico Marine Corps base where the marines will pick it up there,"said Sergeant Jonathan Perok, the Prince William county public information officer.
