Adopt a Hydrant Program has Manassas 11-year-old doing the fire department a favor with pride

"If you want to go to Heaven and live a good life, you can start off by keeping fire hydrants safe to keep people alive," said 11-year-old Jacob Shepard. Jacob "adopted" a fire hydrant from the City of Manassas, promising to keep it accessible for the City of Manassas Fire and Rescue Department.

There are 1,305 fire hydrants throughout the city, which is in need of more volunteers. See more at WDVM.
