Fairfax health officials reports 70 percent increase in teen e-cigarette use

Fairfax County is reporting a 70 percent increase in teen e-cigarette use from 2015 to 2017. According to the Fairfax County Health Department's Youth Survey data, released earlier this month, the county saw an 85 percent decrease in cigarette use from 2001 to 2017. 

The Fairfax County Public Schools' Student Safety and Wellness Office reports a dramatic increase in the number of school-based interventions for vape devices in the last year and a half. Coordinator Stefan Mascoll says most have occurred in high schools, but there have also been incidents in middle and elementary schools. Read more at WDVM.
