The Stafford Regional Choral Society  hosted  its second  2017 summer concert, “From Sea to Shining Sea,” at the National Museum of the Marine Corps on July 2.

Songs in the free concert, led by guest director Lara Brittain, celebrated America and honored those who serve our country.

Soloist Darrell Cooper and the choir began the program with “My Country ’Tis of Thee” and followed with “For Spacious Skies” and “Morning Song.”

Highlights of A musical Tour of our Land included “This Land is Your Land, This Land is My Land” with soloist Emma Robinson and included ‘Manhattan Melodies,”  “Shanandoah” and “Fields of Gold,” among other numbers.

In the salute to those who serve, “God Bless America” was followed by “The Vacant Chair,” “God Bless the USA’ and concluded with a salute to each of the armed forces.

The choral society will present its Christmas concert featuring Handel’s “Messiah” on Dec. 17.
