Stafford man wins top prize in $250K scratcher

A Stafford man won the top prize in the Virginia Lottery’s new $250,0000 CASH scratch-off game, according to a news release.

Richard Tajalle Jr. is the first player to win the $250,000 prize.

He bought his ticket at Mountain View Market, 1259 Mountain View Road in Stafford County.

Three top prizes remain unclaimed in this game, with lower prizes starting at $5.

Tajalle, who sells car parts, said he plans on using his winnings to pay off loans and set up savings accounts for his three children.

The odds of winning the top prize in the game are 1 in 1,836,000, according to lottery officials.
