For all the boasting we hear from the School Board about how inclusive and caring for all students it wants to be, it’s interesting (and perhaps, from our perspective, a tad entertaining) that it took the U.S. Department of Justice to force the county school system to make changes to policies on English-language-learner students.

The school system has signed a consent decree with the Department of Justice on the matter, agreeing to federal oversight of its policies related to immigrant students.

Hmmm. The Trump administration seems to be more concerned about helping immigrants than does the Arlington school system. That’s a kick in the pants to the school system’s much-ballyhooed inclusivity, isn’t it?
